New Educational Learning Tools for the Annawan Alba Library and Annawan School

Henry County Telephone Company in partnership with Annawan Kiwanis Club has made possible two new learning tools for the young people of Annawan, Illinois.

Learning Rugs have been purchased and are currently in use at both the Annawan Alba Library and Annawan Grade School. Learning Rugs are educational tools and can help children learn the ABC's, 1, 2, 3's, math, games, geography and much more!

Marilyn Neuman, a preschool teacher at the Annawan Grade School, and Carole Stern, librarian of the Annawan Alba Library, agree a key part of the formative years of a child's development is combining learning with play. "This methodology has proven to be a highly effective way of helping children to develop while they enjoy themselves", said Mrs. Neuman. "Much of a young child's playtime is spent on the floor or ground, moving toys around and playing with shapes and colors; the Learning Rugs are both fun and educational and can provide a key part of the learning process."

Henry County Telephone Company and the Annawan Kiwanis Club are pleased to help foster the educational growth of the young people of Annawan through the purchase of these new Learning Rugs.
