The Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small Telephone Companies (OPASTCO) and The Foundation for Rural Education and Development (FRED) are proud to support rural America through Scholarship and Grant programs.

As an OPASTCO member, Geneseo, Cambridge and Henry County Telephone Companies are eligible to participate in the following programs. Whether you are a student, a teacher, a public school, or involved with a project aimed at improving your community, you could benefit from one of these scholarship or grant programs.


Any student nominated by an OPASTCO member company who is attending or planning to attend an accredited college, university or trade/vocational school may apply.

The intent of a Teacher Education Grant is to provide teachers with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and use of technology in the classroom. Practicing public school teachers who teach grades K-12 may apply. Grants are awarded in the amounts of $500 - $2,000.

Technology Grants for Rural Schools are intended for public schools that are working to increase the use of technology in the classroom by using new forms of technology to enhance learning. Grants are available ranging from $1,000 - $10,000.
